Did you know that going for a walk can boost your creativity?


Scientists from Stanford University have proved why going for a walk can help us clear our heads when overwhelmed with many thoughts and also how it helps us think clearly and creatively.

The study was conducted with about 175 participants who were made to answer series of questions and they compared the quality and speed of creative responses given by participants who had a walk and those who were seated. The results confirmed that 100% of the participants who walked produced more creative answers.

Also, In a second experiment from the same study, the scientists found that among 48 participants who were all first seated and then were later divided into groups such that (1) sitting, (2)walking outdoors and (3) moving on the treadmill. The researchers concluded that: While being outdoors has many cognitive benefits, walking appears to have a very specific benefit of improving creativity which was seen in the second group.
